changemaker scholarships

To encourage developing leaders in the rowing community we provide Scholarships to help people attend rowing-related conferences and coaching certification courses.

We partner with organizations and businesses to bring educational and networking opportunities to rowers, coaches, coxswains, and club and organizational board and staff through our Changemaker Scholarship initiative.

Our Changemakers Scholarship recipients have been able to attend USRowing Annual Conventions, UCanRow2 indoor rowing certification trainings, and the Science of Rowing Virtual Conference.

Additional requirements
Scholarship recipients will be asked to act as Steady State network correspondents and provide and share takeaways from your seminar experience, which will be shared on Steady State Network social media. We’re open to creative audio reports, videos, written analysis or opinions – whichever format works for you!

CHANGEMAKER SCHOLARS

Science of Rowing virtual conference

Science of Rowing is the resource for coaches and rowers of all levels. SoR read across dozens of academic journals for rowing-relevant research, deliver summaries and takeaways from the most relevant articles, and discuss practical applications. Conference attendees participated in educational sessions across two tracks: rowing-related back pain, and the female rower.

UCANROW2: INDOOR INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATIONS

Becoming an indoor rowing instructor is a great way to gain or enhance your coaching skills and expand your professional network. Scholarship recipients receive full access to the two-day training, and a complimentary 3-month membership to the professional resources for UCanRow2 instructors.
