Special Episode: Liv Carlson Takes the Mic

When Vashon Island Rowing Club junior rower Liv Carlson was asked to interview someone they admire for a school project, they chose Steady State Podcast co-host Tara Morgan.

The result? A thoughtful, wide-ranging 10-minute conversation that traces Tara's rowing journey—from learning to row in Tennessee, to rediscovering the sport as an adult in Seattle, founding Seize The Oar, and the coaches who shaped the way she now mentors others.

The episode opens with a special introduction from Tara and fellow Steady State Podcast co-host Rachel Freedman, setting the stage for this unique role reversal—where a young rower asks the questions and a lifelong rower shares the lessons.

NOTE: The audio quality of Liv’s interview with Tara is a bit different than what’s standard for Steady State Podcast. We hope you enjoy it for what it is: a high school project by a kid that loves rowing.
